The nationwide lockdown has been extended by two more weeks. But the Lockdown 3.0 is not as harsh as its previous versions. With an aim of reopening the nation in a graded manner, the Centre has divided the lockdown restrictions into three categories - what's banned in red zones - the areas most affected by the coronavirus, the orange zones - where Covid-19 outbreak is under control and the green zones where there is no case of the novel coronavirus.
While the government has allowed a large number of industries and sectors to reopen, travelling still remains a key issue.
Travelling by air, trains - apart from special trains arranged for stranded migrants and students, and the road to other states still remains banned.
No interstate movement: Interstate movement of vehicles is allowed only for permitted activities like goods transport or people in need of urgent medical attention or relatives of a deceased person travelling for a funeral.
In red zones: The movement of individual and vehicles is allowed only for permitted activities with a maximum of two persons (besides the driver) in four-wheeler vehicles and one person on a two-wheeler.
In orange zones: Taxi and cab aggregators have also been allowed to resume operations. But one cab can have a maximum of one passenger and one drive at any time.
In green zones: Buses can also operate but with up to 50 per cent capacity. The bus depots must also maintain operations of only 50 per cent buses during the extended lockdown.
